Tadashi Fukushima and his family, are forced by government edict to abandon their fishing village on the northwest coast of British Columbia, and along with other Japanese Canadians, journey to an internment centre, where they await an uncertain fate. Tadashi struggles to understand the undercurrents of racism and injustice that have overtaken his life and those of his community.
